A few weeks ago Sight of Sound Magazine caught up with Escape The Fate at the Lancaster Convention Center. The band was in the process of wrapping up a long tour supporting Five Finger Death Punch and did so on an extremely high note. If you looked out into the sold out crowd that evening you could see just as many fans wearing Escape the Fate t-shirts as there were Five Finger Death Punch t-shirts which was very nice to see. Craig Mabbitt and the band have been touring nonstop for the majority of 2013 so it was great to see a tangible increase in fans who came out just to see them at that show.
Though their setlist was short due to being an opening band they made the most of it and delivered a killer time that evening. First off, I want to formally extend a congratulations to Max Green for his new found sobriety and his re-addition to the Escape the Fate line up. It was great to see him back up on stage along side Craig Mabbitt and he was enjoying it just as much judging by the smiles on his face. The band got show started with the first single of their most recent album, “Ungrateful,” and instantly you could feel the crowd’s energy as they sang along word for word. Even a 7 year old got up on her father’s shoulder’s to sing along later in the and she got some love and attention from the band for doing so.
Escape the Fate just announced this past week that they will be hitting the road for a very special tour titled the “Bury the Hatchet” tour in 2014 that will mend bridges with rival band of sorts, Falling in Reverse. I’m not going to spend too much time addressing the two band’s long standing relationships because fans of the band will already understand the importance of these two bands touring together. In response to this historic announcement, Sight of Sound Magazine will be sharing our exclusive photo gallery from the Lancaster Convention Center. Enjoy, and we will see you all in 2014 at the Philadelphia stop of the Bury The Hatchet Tour. Also be sure to keep an eye out for an exclusive post regarding Escape the Fate’s Craig Mabbitt in the month of January, I can’t spoil it just yet but you will want to check it out!
