Sight of Sound Magazine is proud to announce our first artist for the month for 2014, Escape the Fate! The band grinded out all of 2013 with numerous tours and festival dates all across the country. Though Escape the Fate went through another minor line-up change at the end of the year it was met with open arms by long time fans because it brought about the return of Max Green to the band, an original member who is now sober. Lead singer, Craig Mabbitt, had a busy 2013 releasing both a new album with Escape the Fate and making his solo band, The Dead Rabbitts, debut album as well.
Escape the Fate’s “Ungrateful” was one of the highlights of the genre in 2013 and it featured two powerful music videos including one for the title track that was focused solely around the bullying epidemic that is going on right now. Over the years Escape the Fate have really matured as band, their sound is tighter than ever now and they are making some really influential contributions to the world with their music at the same time.
The band is set to have a monumental year in 2014 as they set out with former rival band, Falling in Reverse, on the Bury the Hatchet tour. Long time fans of both bands will know and understand the long and often dramatic history these two bands have had for more reasons than I can even list but they have managed to put it all behind them to start fresh. As a result they decided to set out on this once in a lifetime tour for their fans that you will not want to miss out. Tickets are still available for some dates, be sure to head to either Falling In Reverse’s or Escape the Fate’s websites today to purchase tickets for what will be one of the best tours of early 2014.
There has been no word on what the band will be doing after this coming tour but the online rumor mills are hoping to catch them on this summer’s Warped Tour as well. It has been a long time since the band was on the annual summer tour and they would be a great addition for the 20th anniversary of the tour this year.
Back in October we had the chance to talk with Craig Mabbitt in Lancaster about becoming our artist of the month for January 2014 and during this time we also chatted about just how crazy of year 2013 has been. I hope you enjoy the conversation we had with him and we hope to see you all at the Philadelphia date of the Bury the Hatchet Tour. Be sure to pick up Escape the Fate’s new album ,”Ungrateful,” and learn all the words for the show too!
