San-Diego hometown heroes Pierce the Veil will be kicking off leg two of “The World Tour” next Friday at Viejas Arena. In recent years, the band has seen a swift and steady rise in popularity. With four consecutive sold-out tours, Pierce the Veil are perched on the precipice of mainstream success. The band has transcended their humble roots on the small side stages of Warped tour, and have recently achieved that which most bands in that scene could only dream of: their 2012 single “King For a Day” was recently certified gold.
Pierce the Veil owes a great deal of success to their live show and strenuous touring schedule. The band has booked solid tours for the past four years, witha few brief breaks in between to record albums. The band’s most recent break from touring resulted in yet another album, which is expected to release “early” this year. This yet-unknown album has already become one of the most wildly anticipated rock albums of 2015. The band has also graced the covers of magazines like Alternative Press and Kerrang several times and have even made waves in the mainstream music community by being featured as one of MTV’s Buzzworthy artists in 2012, and their latest album Collide With the Sky peaked at #12 on the Billboard charts.
So what can you expect from leg two of The World Tour? This time around, Pierce the Veil is bringing along a fully loaded arsenal of diverse opening acts, featuring alt-rock up-and-comers PVRIS, the breakout UK act Mallory Knox touring the US for the first time, and perennial favorites Sleeping With Sirens. Every PTV tour has been bigger and better than the last, and we expect leg 2 of The World Tour to be no different. Expect to see great production, lots of confetti, and perhaps just a few special guest appearances from other bands on the tour (*wink wink*). When the tour was announced, front-man Vic Fuentes said:
“Our fans inspired us to create this tour, so that makes it extra special, and very meaningful for us. Doing a world tour is something that not a lot of bands get to do in a lifetime, so we plan on making these shows the best we’ve ever done. We can’t wait to see you all there!”
If nothing else, expect to see a great live performance. Pierce the Veil has a history of putting on one of the best live shows in the scene. Their music showcases a meticulous attention to detail that translates not only to the production of their live show, but to their performances as well. Each show is a little different, Vic and guitarist Tony Perry showing off their impressive guitar chops during extended bridge solos. The band manages to carefully cultivate an intimate atmosphere with fans, so that even those who are at the back rows can feel a personal connection to the stage.
More tickets for the show in San Diego have been released (but are going fast) so be sure to grab yours. Other dates across the US are already sold out, but a few have remaining tickets. Make sure to check back on SOS for our review and photo gallery from the show!
