Made in America Returns to Philadelphia this September
Made in America returns this September with the most unique line up to date, this year we see Coldplay and Rihanna headline the Philadelphia festival curated by Jay-Z with a diverse line up of artists performing before they take the stage. Spanning the labor day weekend, September 3 & 4, the festival takes over the Benjamin Franklin Parkway next to the Philadelphia Art Museum. While the headliners are often the focus of the festival it is noteworthy to point out the festival’s track record in predicting the next hot ticket artist. Examples include Halsey, Bleachers and The Struts who have all played Made in America over the past few years as some of the lowest bands on the bill going from there to have colossal success. This year you see acts like Dorothy, Travis Scott, St. Lucia, and Desiinger occupying some of the upcoming artist slots on the line up.
Sight of Sound has covered the festival the past 2 years and there is no doubt that in that time Made in America has become one of the country’s most iconic festivals mainly due to its wide range of genre diversity. As the music scene has transformed over the past decade it has been festivals like Made in America that have helped break down the genre barrier and bring music fans of all types together for a celebration in Philadelphia.
