The Menzingers Keep Riding the Wave

Philadelphia based punk rockers, The Menzingers came and spent two nights in Brooklyn at Warsaw packing out the venue both nights. I was able to catch the set on night two and their was one thing that was clear… the buzz for this band is growing and it is only going to get larger! With each release, and each tour, the rooms get filled with more and more passionate voices screaming back each word.
After gaining a ton of recognition after their 2017 release, After The Party, the Menzingers recently followed up that successful release with their new album, Hello Exile. Keeping true to their roots with their instrumentals & story telling the 2019 release has only helped pile onto the buzz the band was already gaining. Releasing tracks like, America (You’re Freaking Me Out), this album could not have come at a better time.
The one thing with a new album release when it come to supporting the release with a tour is that fans new and old highly anticipate what the set list will be. In my humble opinion, the Menzingers did it 100% right. Playing a great mix of old songs and blending in the perfect amount of new songs for the new fan base that they have gained over the past couple years, everyone was happy. As an ex performer, they did a great job at utilizing their songs and adding peaks and valleys to their sets giving the fans time to get to the secluded bar to grab their next drink. The show was a 10/10 punk rock show.
The Menzingers have time and time again out done themselves with each release and song and the once small town Scranton ban is finally gaining the traction they deserve. I look forward to them to continue riding the wave and can’t wait to see what they do next.
